They say you're gone, but I keep looking to the stars, as if they could bring you back, as if they could blink your name in some ancient code I've yet to learn.
If I close my eyes long enough, perhaps I'll see you again— standing there, whole, a shadow made of light. And if the stars won't give you back, I'll wait here, night after night, pretending they will.

Beneath the still sky, I cradle the weight of stars that slipped through my hands.

I'm lost, a planet spun off its axis, spinning endlessly in a void where your presence used to anchor me.
I see your face everywhere-- in the shadows, in the corner of every empty room, and every shooting star that passes over me.
It's suffocating. I'm angry at the universe for taking you from me, for ripping you away when we had so much left to do. You promised me the stars.
Do you even know how much this hurts? Do you realize that you left me with a shattered heart, struggling to find my way in this universe without you?
I was told that gravity would never betray us. That we'd stay whole-- a force, a supernova.
I didn't realize that we'd fall so soon.

Take me. Take this body, this breath; I would give it all. I would shatter myself, scatter my bones to stardust, trade this heartbeat for silence, if it meant we could dance along the milky way together one more time.
I want to trade places. Let my blood spill into the void, let it fill the gaps between galaxies, if it brings you back, whole and breathing. Let my skin peel away like fading starlight, let my bones dissolve into dust.
Take everything I am, so you can be everything again.

I am the corpse of a fallen star, crumbling into myself, pieces of light drifting endlessly. I am both bound and broken— a planet circling itself, lost and confused.

I shed you like stardust, burned you away in the atmosphere, a violent birth from the orbit you chained me to. In your absence, I began to bloom, like a tulip nestled on Mars, I defied all odds and flourished into a radiant nebulae.

I release you like a star shedding light, let you drift beyond reach, knowing that even as you fade from view, you are part of me, a constellation forever circling in the orbit of my soul, guiding me toward a new horizon, a dawn beyond the dark.
Where you faded, I ignited, a solitary star, fierce and defiant, filling the solar system with light only loss could create.
So, thank you. I had to learn to love myself again. And when I did, I became the universe I once looked for in you.
