Since it is October and officially spooky season, I thought it would be nice to read some more spooky poetry.

Does anyone have any favorite poems they have read that are very halloween themed or scary? What about any favorite spooky/horror poetry writers?

Share all of your poem names, authors, and quotes here for everyone to enjoy!
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?

I don't necessarily love spooky poems but I DO love eerie poems!

A favorite... The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt link

At one point I had this poem memorized (along with 3 other bug poems) and would regularly recite them for fun. It's been years but I still love the poem!
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

It's not a Halloween poem per se, but I love reading "The Glass Essay" by Anne Carson around this time. I like how it explores memory, loss, and loneliness!!

I like Annabel Lee by Poe. It tells the tale of a beautiful love that is interrupted by death, highlighting themes of love, loss, and the supernatural.
