There are a handful of games that you can play on the NYT website - some free and some not free - but here are the three I enjoy playing the most and how to play them.
Wordle is pretty simple. You just guess a 5-letter word! Incorrect letters will appear gray, letters that are correct but are in the wrong spot will appear yellow, and letters that are correct and are in the right spot will appear green.
Strands is medium-hard, depending on how good you are at word searches. You are given a hint and you need to find words that fit the hint. The "spangram" is a bright yellow word (or phrase) that connects the board from one edge to another, and it is the theme of the day! For example, the hint could be "apple of my eye", the spangram could be "fruits", and two of the words could be "pear" and "apple"!
Connections is a bit harder. You are given 16 words and you have to find 4 words that share a category. Altogether, you must find 4 groups. The categories range from easy to hard and are color-coded (check the "how to play" option to learn the difference). I do enjoy this one when playing it with friends - if playing by myself, I get a bit frustrated!
These games are all really fun and I enjoy playing them every day. If you decide to check them out, please feel free to share your results here! Whenever you finish one of the games, you'll have an option to share your results. Simply click "share" then copy and paste the little emojis that are automatically copied to your keyboard! OR you can post a screenshot if you'd like to!
PLEASE remember to avoid posting any spoilers without using the spoiler tags! So if you'd like to complain about the purple category in Connections (trust me, you will want to), then you can use the spoiler tags to say what annoyed you, just in case someone sees it who has not gotten around to doing the activities yet.
Anyways! I hope you guys check it out and if you do, feel free to share your results here! Have fun!
