What are the YWS Olympics?
Great question! The YWS Olympics are a series of writing events and contests designed to be a fun competition for all YWSers! This year, they'll be kicking off August 2nd and ending August 11, with each day bringing a new event that will stay open for 24 hours. Stay tuned for an official schedule of events!
Scores and Prizes
It wouldn't be the Olympics without medals! For each event, you have the chance to win gold, silver, or bronze. Each gold medal is worth 3 points, each silver worth 2, and each bronze is worth 1. At the end of the Olympics, the points for each user will be tallied and we'll get our overall winners! Try to participate in every event you can; because of the points system, you could be our overall winner without ever getting gold!
The overall winners will get bragging rights and medal badges, but everyone who participates will also get a participation badge to commemorate the event!
Teams
If you don't want to just be a solo competitor, you can form a team! While not a requirement, they add another level of fun competition to the event! Choose wisely-- you can only join one!
To join a team, you can either post in an existing thread, or if you'd like to create your own, simply create a thread in this forum with your team name! You can also create a club if you'd like.
At the end of the Olympics, along with our overall winners, the team winners will be announced and receive special badges!
