In case anyone wanted to know, what Isolde sings should sound something like organum (early polyphony) from the Notre-Dame school of chant. One voice sings the notated chant while another improvises a second line. The most famous composers from this school were Leonin and Perotin.

Hiiiiiiiiii.

It seems like everyone isn't sure what the plot is??? So... let's come up with something!

- Lord Reginald is framing everyone to get away with his nefarious deeds.

- The first victim of this framing is the jackalope, which is such an obvious set up that it immediately makes us suspicious because REALLY. A jackalope union leader is ordered to be assassinated because he is the worst guy ever??? YEAH RIGHT.

- After talking with the jackalope again and trying to figure out what the next step, they encounter someone who looks like they also might have been set up somehow, though it's not as obvious anymore.

- As they continue to investigate, their investigations become more personal and the reason why they've encountered so many hardships is because of Reginald's nefarious hand. (Maybe Vanessa finds out Reginald set up her brother so that is the reason why he was imprisoned? Lee finds out Reginald was behind the weird portal? Lorelei... has something going on? I dunno.)

- They go confront Reginald!

ANYWAY. That gives a plot to follow... if we choose to follow it, lol.

So here's some additional information:

Gor Chasten is a mining town within King Reginald's realm. They mine iron under the mountain, and it is delivered to a forge in Gor Chasten, which is used to make armor and weapons for Gor Nathal as well as other useful items. (I am shamelessly borrowing from Iron Town in Princess Mononoke, if that helps.)

When Boba formed the union, he thought it was just going to add some additional people to WTF. However, by empowering the miners, he was able to start a minor rebellion. Miners realized that if they could strike and gain concessions, than it might be possible for the entire town to go on strike and get even more concessions.

This pattern of behavior has caused a breakdown in civil authority in Gor Chasten, as the entire town has literally refused to follow the minions of King Reginald.

Normally a town rebelling like this would require an intervention by King Reginald's Legion of Terror. However, King Reginald has been advised to secure the services of the Grey Ghosts mercenary group, led by Marlon Grey.

Ultimately, King Reginald wants to secure the mine, the forge, and the skilled tradesmen that run those assets. He wants to restore control over the town and the people that run it. The mercenaries of the Grey Ghost company are ideal assets to this purpose.

The Grey Ghosts themselves are mostly composed of Lawful Neutral mercenaries. They have a reputation for completing difficult jobs on-time and under budget. They make a point of arresting and imprisoning adversaries, killing them only when they refuse to be taken alive.

Killing and torturing people isn't their style, they aren't evil. King Reginald understands this, so his instructions are to arrest people, so that they can be handed over to the "lawful authorities." And once they leave, King Reginald can torture those traitors to his hearts content.

So, how can the party deal with this?

I think the silliest way of handling this is for the party to infiltrate Gor Chasten, and then impersonate King Reginald's agents. That way, when the Grey Ghosts turn over their prisoners to the "Lawful Authorities," the party can just let them go free as soon as the mercs leave.

And let's be honest, Snoink would have a field day writing a scene where Vanessa nervously impersonates a total stranger to another total stranger. Just the number of things that could go wrong is so funny.

Things the party would need to do to pull this off: disguise kits, the cooperation of the town to "sell" their cover, and the official seal of the officials, with which they would authorize payment to the other mercs.

Couldn't the party just kill these mercs?

I mean, you could certainly try. However, these guys are pretty smart and very well disciplined, so in a straight up fight they are likely to kill at least one of the party in return. If the party does engage these guys, there should be serious consequences.

However... Lorelei kind of likes these guys. Today they may be a rival group, but tomorrow they might be a collaborator. They are professionals, so it makes sense to extend them a professional courtesy.

I am getting "To Be Or Not To Be" vibes here. XD

(Not sure if we watched this together... Jack Benny stars in a movie in which he is part of an acting troupe that impersonates Hitler's staff.)

...okay, pretend Mallin's post is set slightly before in last week's group of posts.

(Honestly, I started writing it during last week, but I didn't have a chance to finish, so booo. But whatever!)

OKAY. SO.

This week is a week of ~rest~ before tsunami where there is no word count and no one expects you to post or write, lol. In fact, nothing that you write will actually count towards next week, so don't bother writing anything, lol. It's the calm before the strom. Then! The week after that is TSUNAMI. Tsunami is the last week!!! Basically, it's a free for all and everybody writes as much as they can... which, actually, is good for us because we don't have to stress about word count for the tsunami week because it's whatever we want it to be. XD

...the very fact that we've made it this far is actually pretty impressive.

Anyway, since this is our rest week, I want you guys to think about how you would like to end this story and tie up any loose threads. We should probably have all our characters come back to the castle for the grand finale, just because that would make the climax better. Also, we need to figure out how we would like our characters be at the end of the story.

- It would make sense if King Reginald tried to get back the throne and he remain our BBEG. Since Isolde's made it clear that she is okay with defending her throne with hand-to-hand combat, maybe something with that? I currently have Mallin thinking about bringing back King Reginald for something like that, so that's how he can come back, if you want to use that plot thing.

- @Griffinkeeper... I have no idea what you're trying to do with The Hand of the Golux. Maybe explain your intention on that? Can this side plot be wrapped up fairly quickly (within the week)?

- I... might have a whole dramatic entrance for Cyril and Vanessa planned out already. It's going to be exciting. :)

ANYWAY. Let's talk about endings! I... kind of want an overall happy ending. Because I am an American, darn it, and I want HAPPY ENDINGS. XD

What I would like for my characters' endings...

Mallin - gets to see King Reginald get defeated, gets gold for her eyrie, and lives happily ever.

Cyril - reunites with Vanessa, decides definitively that his life of crime is officially over, and has a new start... somewhere. Still deciding where...

Vanessa - finishes up with a couple of economic things, asks to be moved to the position of being the Healing Minister, and uses her gifts in that way instead.

MIND YOU. If you want to end, end the story with Honkers riding the tsunami wave and killing everybody... this should happen at the very end. XD However, I would like my characters to find peace first, before this happens!

...okay. If you can all reply with what you would like to see for your character/s, that would be great. :)

Yes i understand that, but if we still write this week and just wait to post it, we can get a major leap on the other teams. So I am going to write anyways.

Pffffft. Planning is better for us right now. Trust me! We need to refocus and reorient to do the climax and plot properly, otherwise we're not going to be able to finish with a logical story. So, actually, taking a quick break is probably better for the story overall.

@Book, what would ending would you like for your characters?
