A little bit of everything. Some people just hung out, I took off by myself and found a massive abandoned dirt pit and my brothers went up the creek about a mile and found old hurricane debris and a water moccasin. We covered a lot of ground.

We're all grown human beings but put us in the woods and suddenly the imagination kicks in and we're on some adventure haha

Sirejj too found himself amused at the phindian's reaction but only raised an eyebrow.. She had been quite the sparky one. That would not do her any good here.

Vader used the force to unlock the door and fling it open with a clang. He was not pulling any punches. He stepped over the threshold and into the large walk-in cage. It did not seem so large with him there; he was almost touching the roof of the small building.

"I believe we have some business to attend to." He said, looking down on the cowering phindian

Yesss same. Water moccasin is scary though! I'm assuming no one got bit. What was the dirt pile from?

She startled when the door was flung open and scrambled back into a corner. "Look, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'll tell you what you want. I hardly know anything, but I'll tell you. I'll go away and never bother you again. Please."

pile isn't the right word. Most likely an old dig site for clay and sand.

Also, pretty sure Vader has zero patience with Qiall and would be in favor of disposing of her once he is satisfied she can't tell him anything further. Do we have plans for her or is she pretty much screwed here

"Who paid you to assassinate Governor and Lady Tarkin? And name your accomplices, if you have them." His tone had changed to be darker and more forceful, no longer the reserved steady figure he'd seemed a moment to go. His voice was tinged with anger and a little bit of a challenge; it was almost as if he wanted the phindian to resist him.

Even if she did not know anything, she would suffer. No one attempted an assassination like she had and got away with it. He did not plan on allowing her to leave this cell alive.

Ayy that looks cool!
Tarkin is gonna want her detained by the ISB in case she comes in handy later. Sort of a make her disappear situation

"No accomplices." She was trembling badly. "Just me. He just hired me. The alias on the contract was Rido Gavon. That's all I know, I swear."

"We need a voice, Vader," Tarkin prompted quietly. "She heard him speak."

K. Vader just likes murder and tarkin has to remind him to play nice.

so didn't kill her but otherwise interrogation is fine

Vader paused for a moment, slightly turning his head in Tarkin's direction. "We will find that soon enough."

Vader turned back to the terrified phindian before him and suddenly drug her to her feet with not so much as a wave of his hand. He stepped forward, and as he did she was slammed against the back wall of the cage. He stretched out his hand towards her and began to break into her mind, searching for any sign of her employer. A voice, a recording, if she had missed covering her steps in any way, he would find it. Even if she herself was not aware of the mistake.

Sirejj's facial expression flinched ever so slightly as the phindian thudded against the wall. Vader did not trifle with his interrogations.

Exactly

The Phindian went stiff, and her tear-filled eyes went wide and blank. She made a strangled sound as Vader invaded her thoughts, and her legs beat uselessly against the wall.

Tarkin rested one arm on the other and clasped his chin, rubbing his jaw thoughtfully. "Try to leave her at least a little intact," he remarked. "I was going to keep her around--who knows what other uses she might have?"

There was a male voice, which she had tried pushing to the very back of her mind. It swirled there, faint and slightly distorted by a recording, but there nonetheless.

Sirejj felt the urge to slink back into the shadows to watch where he felt a bit safer, but did no such thing. He stood where he was, feet rooted to the ground as if he'd grown there.

Once Vader heard that voice he only pushed harder. He wanted to make out the words. See the hologram of it was there. Hear exactly what her employer had told her to do. He was single minded in his hunt. Not a care for the rest of her mind, just that one thing.

"How disappointing." He dropped her from where he held her off the ground. "Unfortunately for you, your employer has covered his tracks well. But this will not stop us from finding him." He looked down at the crumpled figure on the floor. "We will be sure to inform him how helpful you were."

have they found her ship yet btw? I'm assuming if they have they've searched it

For the sake of convenience let's say they have searched it and found nothing particularly useful. Maybe a comm.

The Phindian, twitching and slack-jawed, did not respond.

"Has she got a name?" Tarkin asked, eyeing the assassin. "That might be useful. We could comb through databases for anyone who contacted her." The Phindian appeared to be catatonic, or as good as. Fat chance of getting anything useful out of her in the future, but he'd let the ISB be the judge of that. They were usually good at turning lost causes into sources of information or leverage.

k.

"Her name is Qiall Saraat." Vader turned back to them and stepped out of the kennel. He let the door slam behind him. "The best course of action will be to scour the databases for any reference of that alias." His tone had returned to calm and deliberate like nothing had ever happened.

"I'll notify the ISB, then." Tarkin nodded. "Fine work as always, my friend." A bit sloppy, he thought privately. He know Vader could leave his victims at least a bit more verbal. Saraat looked like she might as well be a vegetable now.

Sirejj is over here like "I don't know whether to be impressed or to flee for my life"

"Excellent. It seems like my work with this one is finished for now." He gestured to what was left of the phindian.

Sirejj, despite being mildly disturbed, was impressed. He was capable of reading thoughts, and though he thought it often unnecessary to shatter the unlucky soul's mind while at it, he had to admit it was effective. That kind of power was certainly alluring.

Flee. Definitely flee.

"Do you have to depart immediately or would you like to stay and see the sights?" Tarkin asked. "The hunting grounds are open to you, of course. And I could be persuaded to show you the Carrion." He'd mulled this over many times before making this decision--he had come to the conclusion that Vader was the sort of person who could respect and appreciate such a place.

I think Sirejj has a healthy apprehension. He is well aware of what Vader could do to him and the fact that Vader can be wildly unpredictable does not help. It's like the "no thanks, I choose life" meme

Sirejj perked a little at that and glanced at Tarkin. He had been under the impression that outsiders weren't allowed there. And he didn't want to be left out of the equation.

Vader seemed to contemplate that for a moment.

"I will plan on staying for a while. I would be quite interested in seeing your infamous Carrion." He knew that place was a kind of sacred thing to the Tarkin family. He never been there before. To see such a place would be an honor, even to him. There was often a deep connection between a person and the place where their greatest struggles took place.

I mean that's really smart to be fair. Vader isn't someone to mess around with

Tarkin nodded, pleased, and patted Vader on the shoulder. "Fantastic. I'll see you to your accommodations and let you rest, then. Shall I call for you when it's time for dinner or would you prefer to take that time to yourself?" He was usually fairly deferential to Vader when he was around, letting him choose when to go and come. He couldn't push him around like with other subordinates, and he had no wish to. They were equals, as far as he was concerned.

imagine that dinner. Vader and Tarkin chillin (though does vader eat or like what happens there) and everyone else too uncomfortable to say anything.

Sirejj proves he does have some self control over his bickering personality. he's been quieter than he's been in his whole life.

"I will join you then." Vader took a step forward and walked with Tarkin as they made their way out of the building.

Sirejj followed behind them, glancing over his shoulder at the last kennel one last time before they left.
