in love with an apparition

for poetry that isnt polished & words that havent gone anywhere

i wait 20 minutes at the bus stop
for a bus that never comes
how many keys do you have on your keychain
& has it changed since we last spoke

barnyard mice see bats as valkyries /
the world changes slowly for short-lived things

weeds are not weeds if you love them /
i sleep in the field / dew on my neck, i forgot my pillow

we were swimming
before we were breathing

there is no way to take back time
i want hope & healing,
folded into origami swans,
on the cusp of something beautiful
& breathable

your lungs have loved me
before anything else

i wish i could
live behind your eyes:
becoming you & seeing
everything
the way you do

I also used to be a person who really liked poetry, your sentences are very polished, if you feel carefully, it is excellent.
