(Oh, I thought they were 14 and 20. I think I was thinking college graduates would be 20 but he only did two years. You right)

Rana nodded somberly, not feeling like she had much room to weigh in on the matter. “I’m sorry. That must have been hard for you to watch.”

He was silent, but he nodded and crossed his arms.

“Are you able to see her now?” Rana asked, hoping for a cheerier topic.

(Spent maybe too long drawing an evil alien frog blob complaining about burning the bottom of his cake. Scavengers Reign will not leave my head, Shady)

"Oh, certainly. We'll have a summit fairly soon to go over war strategies--I expect it'll be at the Ash or Loquitur Keep, and Lyra might be at either."

Rana nodded thoughtfully. “I hope the reunion is as peaceful for you as possible. I’m sure she could use some friends.”

"Probably. I'm glad Lord Loquitur adopted someone close in age--hopefully they've made friends."

Rana nodded in agreement. “Have you met the new girl?”

"Not yet. She had some assassins after her, apparently, so she was holed up in Serpent Keep for quite awhile."

Rana looked at him, aghast. “I beg your pardon?”

"Assassins." He nodded grimly. "I don't know much more than that, I'm afraid."

Rana blinked, slowly processing it. “Why? Who is she, to be worth sending assassins after?”

"I have no clue. All I know is she's a former slave." Ewan boosted himself off the wall. "I think you'll meet her, if you're going to meet Lord Loquitur."

“Interesting.” Rana straightened as well. “Must have given her quite the cultural shock, to go from slavery to luxury.”

"Oh, I've no doubt. Hopefully it's been long enough for her to have adjusted, though."

Rana nodded. “Hopefully. Must be quite likeable to have convinced the Loquiturs to take her in, anyhow.”
