“Probably the simplest one. You just use one symbol to replace something else. At its simplest you could just replace every ‘a’ with a ‘c’ for example and do that with the whole alphabet. So instead of c-a-t for cat it would be e-c-v so it looks like nonsense unless you have the key.”
