“…Oh.” She glanced back over her shoulder again and then looked back at him and nodded. “Well… if you’re sure… I… um… would appreciate that…”

"Sure!" He smiled. "'S no trouble."

Ky smiled a little, too. “Um… okay, then… I guess I can just go to the town, then. Drop off my horse. Then we can pick up after that? Or… would you like to walk along? I’m afraid it may be painfully slow for you…”

"I'll walk." He leaned down, resting his upper body weight on his knuckles.

Ky furrowed her brow. “On all fours?”

"It's how I walks. I gots a long body; sometimes it's more comfortable."

“Oh… okay.” Ky nodded. “…Don’t your hands get cold?”

He held up one of his hands. There was thick skin on top of his knuckles and the back of his hand very similar to an animal's paw pad. "Nope."

“…oh.” She nodded, and gently urged her horse forward. “Okay.”

Humtur followed after her, tail dragging along the ground behind him. "So what will you do when the gods wakes?" he asked.

She shivered. “I… I don’t quite know, yet. Haelar hasn’t told me yet.”

"Why not?"

“He’s asleep.” Ky shrugged. “I… I only talked to him once. In my sleep.”

His bushy eyebrows shot up. "Really? What did he say?"

“Um… that he was going to wake up when the sun goes down… and that he wants a herald to announce him… um… and he let me talk to my Papa.”
