(Bruh my phone battery is getting replaced and it's been all of 10 minutes and I'm already going through withdrawals lol)

"I guess we'll never know, will we?" she spat. "Since you chose to jump straight to invading my privacy rather than speaking to me like a reasonable adult."

(Oh dude that ain't good)

"I could know if I wanted to." He crossed his arms. "Where were you?"

(Haha luckily it’s back now! And much much better than it had been. The other end of the anxiety I have is I’m so used to having a shit battery that I generally put it in low power mode immediately and plug it in when it gets low otherwise it dies quick but I was advised to let it die this first time before I charge to improve battery health and it’s been hanging out in the 30s for like an hour. Which is good. Exactly what I want in a new battery. But inconvenient because I want to charge haha)

She prickled, looking at him coldly. Part of her wanted to snap at him to just check himself. But she didn’t want him to. There was more truth there than she wanted to share with him. She needed to give him enough in hopes he didn’t pry… hopefully. “I took a ride.”

(That makes sense. I do have to be better about that; I charge it overnight)

"Why?"

She looked at him coldly for a moment. “I thought it was later than it was. I thought it’d be nice to see the sunrise.”

"You're lying," Septimus said curtly.
Gaius studed Ky for a moment, frowning. "I doubt that, somehow."

Ky shot Septimus a glare, then looked back at Gaius, even angrier and barely making an effort to conceal it. “Gee, wonder how.”

"I didn't look," he insisted. "I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt."

She huffed, but didn’t want to push it and have him check. “I met with Rönn and we got into an argument.”

"Why?"

Ky bristled. “It was a private matter.” And none of his fucking business.

"Did you endanger yourself?"

Ky hesitated an awkwardly long time, fidgeting. “I wasn’t trying to kill myself if that’s what you’re asking.”

"You don't seem in a state to be trying," he admitted. "You seem agitated, not depressed."

“Mm.” She was both. But not suicidal. Ish.
