All the Little Songbirds, All the Silent Trees

(Haha that’s valid. I guess I’ll start with Ki’nuu and we’ll see what happens)

Ki’nuu had felt a magical upset last night. She woke up in a cold sweat, shivering. She got up and did a few spells to try to make herself feel better and now had flowers and vines creeping all around her small hidey hole in the grove. It smelled wonderful. But she still felt unsettled; so she decided to go investigating to see what had happened.

Stellan arrived at Tove's after she'd already fallen asleep. He knew how humans were about being woken up, so he wandered off to see how the area was faring. The redcaps were out in force, which was to be expected. There was a hillock troll who'd moved in; he exchanged some polite conversation with her and learned that Tove had fought a cu-sith in the area.

Ki’nuu got to the meadow and began wandering around chatting with any of the friendly fae who seemed interested in speaking with her. She’d heard about the cu-sith but not who had killed it.

Eventually Stellan, too, was drawn to the meadow for the openness. It was a great place to start a forest fire, he thought. Lots of dry grass. And the sky was wide above him; the wind called agonizingly. He'd be back on it soon enough, but he wanted to talk to his child first.

Ki’nuu spotted the strange little man quickly and gave him a friendly wave and smile.

Stellan saw her at the same time and blinked at her. That was a fae. Seemed like a wobbly sort in terms of headspace, though.
"Good tidings to you!" he called.

“Hello!” She skipped over towards him, brushing her fingertips in the tall grass. “How are you today?”

"Fine and flightworthy," Stellan replied with a sharp grin. "Yourself?"

“Feeling a little unsettled but overall can’t complain,” she answered with a nod, glancing around. “My names Ki’nuu, by the way.”

"Good to meet you." He dipped into a bow. "May I ask why you're unsettled?"

Didn’t offer his name. Tsk.

“Mm there was magic here last night.” Ki’nuu gestured vaguely. “I think I woke right when a cu-sith met it’s end.”

(Ha, he's not stupid)

"Cu-sith?" His eyebrows shot up. "You don't say! I just spoke to a hillock troll about one of those. She snapped it up before it could get its jaws around a few humans."

“Humans?” She furrowed her brow. “Oh dear. What were they doing out that time of night? How foolish of them.”

"She said they were trying to kill it. A witch and a walder, and and some silly little wisp of a person that fainted outright."
