There were the serpents on most of the box--scaly, well-muscled beasts with thick bodies and watchful eyes. On the lid the legend scene had the wiry, long-bearded Venr Ash communing with the God-Serpent of the Mountains, which was inlaid with metal so the gray-white scales actually gleamed and glinted. The eyes were sapphires. It was bunched up in coils but still towered over Venr, who sat cross-legged on the ground facing the viewer with one hand to his head and the other stretched out to the Serpent. His eyes were closed.

I called someone the first time I saw it going on but Mom said I should have waited and not panicked. Thinking about asking her about it again because it does make sense if the dog is destructive when the people are away but still Like, get a crate, assholes. Pits also have the scariest cry, like if you haven't heard it I do not recommend. It sounds like a wet monster under your bed)
