She let out a sigh of relief and gave a tight nod. “Oh thank gods.” She stepped backward, nodding to him. That was relieving. “Thank you.”

Had to experiment with Gaius's name change recently too but that was gross. Picked the wrong name.
I'm gonna have a hell of a time finding the right one. He's been Gaius since I was in eighth grade)

Severus dipped his head. "Certainly. Does that put your mind at ease?"

(Yeah I can’t imagine him with any other name)

She sat down on the edge of her chair with a little shrug. “Maybe… I’m sure he’ll find ways to be terrible without touching me… can you do it indirectly? Like… could he throw something at me?” She glanced across the room at the fire. “Or… trap me somewhere? Set me afire? I don’t know.”

(Closest I can find to the fit is Kjartan but I'm saving that)

"He could through the essence of something. For example." Severus reached toward a shelf and pulled out a book. He showed it to her, then pointed to where the book had come from. The same book still sat there. "This is on a different plane. Try to hold it." He offered his copy to her.

(Nice! That one feels boxier tho)

Ky tried to take it.

It fell straight through her hands onto the ground.

Ky furrowed her brow and glanced back at him, assuming that meant she wouldn’t be able to pick it back up if she tried.

"In short, Michael can do you no physical harm while you have that bone," Severus said with another small smile. "Nor can any spirit. You and the living are completely safe."

Ky nodded slowly, glancing back at the book. “…Good.”

"If you have any other questions, I would gladly answer them." He gave Septimus a small glare, and his younger brother stalked away.

Ky glanced at Septimus, then back at Severus. “Thank you. I really, really appreciate that. This is all very overwhelming.”

"I understand." He dipped his head. "I must apologize for my brother. He's...not what anyone hoped he would be."

Ky glanced back towards where Septimus had walked off then back at Severus. “I… am frustrated by that, yes.”

"You're not the only one." He shook his head. "I wish I'd taken his children with me when I visited. Tomhas, too."

She grimaced and nodded in agreement.
