Of Crows and Songbirds (Part 2)

"True, true." He nodded. "That part can be frustrating."

Ky nodded in agreement. “Oh and liars dice. That’s fun too.”

"I have seen that one played but I've never played it myself." He played a card.

Ky played too. “I enjoyed it quite a lot as a kid.”

"You'll have to teach me sometime, if you're willing." He glanced at Tadaaki. "How about you?"

“Oh!” Tadaaki hastily played a card. “Sorry.”

"No worries." He took the trick and played another.

(I think imma gnaw my own arms off if this poison ivy doesn’t stop itching soon so you may lose your RP buddy once I manage to get them off >.> )

This was such an odd sensation. To be playing with a free man. And not getting in trouble when he did well. Tadaaki… liked this. He liked it a lot. And he didn’t know what to do with that realization. He didn’t deserve this sort of gratification.

(Oh geez. Have you tried going to the doctor?)

Emery lost the trick this time and chuckled to himself.

(It’s not that bad yet… but it’s getting progressively worse. It started on one knuckle and is now on two and then the back of my hand on the other hand and also a big patch up that forearm which just so happens to be right at the top of my brace to make it nice and extra itchy)

Ky was searching for a topic of conversation and kept coming up short. All the questions that came to mind seemed like they were pushing nosiness, which she damn sure didn’t want. So, what then?

(Oh man)

"Are there any specifically Southern games I don't know of?" he asked.

“There’s this one, I’m not sure if you have it up here, where you have cards with different numbers or faces on them and each one means you have to do a different thing. The older kids in my township would play it when they drank, but I had fun just playing with juice.”

"What sorts of things did you have to do?"

(Not me, trying to figure out how to explain medieval kings cup)

“It’s…” she blushed. “Not appropriate, now that I think of it more. Sorry. But, like, one of the innocent ones is a question master, where their goal is to make you answer a question they ask you, and if you do then you have to drink. That one was fun. I would just ask a bunch of questions like, ‘what does this card do?’ or ‘how much longer do you think this game is gonna last’ or things like that that seem natural. I got a lot of people.”

"That actually sounds like a lot of fun," he chuckled. "Drinking games are pretty popular up here, too. Something about warming your bones."
