It was like the world was spinning beneath her making her bed go around and around and around until there was a force pinning her to the mattress. Her chest hurt.
She’d made it past tears to the miserable dissociative state she always eventually got herself to.
She just… had to… exist, she guessed. Maybe if she upset Tomhas enough he’d leave and disown her. Then Gaius would have no reason to keep her here. She doubted Sara would let him toss her out entirely, but if he wasn’t imprisoning her, then she’d leave, and every last one of them knew it.
And then…she’d…
She didn’t know.
But there had to be better aids than ‘pretending to be a dog’ to try to make yourself happy. Perhaps she’d try drugs or alcohol or… or… casual sex? Or…? She wasn’t actually sure what all options there were for destructive habits to make yourself feel better. But there had to be at least one that worked better than her current state.

Ky tensed, startled. Her brow furrowed as she looked at the door. Was that…Emery? Why was he here? She wasn’t who she’d expected to have gotten sent to babysit her. Maybe if she just stayed quiet he’d say what he wanted.
