Ky dipped her head and took the cup, striding over to the bucket to wash them. Had that been a successful re-direct? What was she going to say if not? She didn’t know. So she’d have to hope to her lucky stars that it worked.

Sara rose. "I should probably tear Gaius away from the crowd now; he has to be going mad by now."

Ky watched her go then slowly hung the cups up to dry and sighed. Relieved to be on her own again. At last.
Though she supposed she wasn’t sorry for this little aside. Sara seemed sort of okay. She guessed. Even if this promise was stupid. It was still… nice. That she was trying. Or whatever.

Sara headed back into the dining hall, easing her way through the crowd to Gaius. "You can speak to Lord Ash in a few hours' time," she called out. "He'll be in his office, but that's all the time we have for now." Gaius glanced at her gratefully and looked around for the children, who were still with Tasia and Ua.

Tadaaki stood as he saw Sara return. Without Ky. What did that mean? Had… something…? Well. Clearly something happened. It always did when time passed. But was it something bad? Hopefully not.

Sara didn’t seem the type to just let Ky run off and self-destruct… at least she wouldn’t if she recognized that Ky was about to. Was Ky about to? Where was she? Why hadn’t she returned with Sara?

Tadaaki took a step towards the door, concerned. Aashi held on to his arm. He looked down at her, conflicted, then back towards Sara. She wanted him to stay. Of course she did. Who wouldn’t? But. Well. He was fairly certain the danger had passed for now. At least the danger exerted upon them by an external force. But gods only know how much danger Ky was in now if left to her own devices. He looked at Sara. “Where’s Ky?”
