Pratik grinned, relaxing even more into the chair. Rickard really was a calming presence. Pratik usually didn’t actually relax in front of anyone. It was usually a carefully constructed act to be as nonchalant and cocky as possible. But he actually felt at ease around Rickard. Bizarre.

Pratik smiled slightly at that, equally flattered that Rickard was comfortable around him. It was hit or miss with people, whether they felt safe enough around him to sleep. Most didn’t, and he couldn’t blame them. He’d never do anything to them, but they had no guarantee of that. And he was a mercenary. He didn’t sleep around mercenaries either, unless they were also in the Guild. But that was different.
