Ky sighed. “Fine. I won’t.” At least not tonight. She genuinely didn’t know what she may or may not do in the future. But Ada wasn’t going to stop until she said so and meant it. “But I am writing parents tomorrow, and you can’t stop me.”

“Night.” Ky nodded to her and headed for her room. Fine. She wouldn’t. She wouldn’t translate anything for Ada if she didn’t want her to. Let her rely on Pratik and Gaius. Neither of them were going to tell her. But if she didn’t want to know then fine.

Ky had a brief moment of considering going back to the library, then decided she had no emotional energy left went to her room and locked the door behind her. She hesitated, patting the door. That would buy her a solid day. Locking her door. If she went to breakfast tomorrow morning, then no one would blink if she disappeared the rest of the day. She’d already established a habit of skipping meals and sulking by herself. Sara would come check on her. But maybe she wouldn’t worry the rest of the day if Ky was at breakfast. And maybe when she did come to check, she’d think Ky was just sulking and refusing to answer her door. They wouldn’t disrespect her privacy right away. She’d get enough of a head start.
