Ky assumed Gaius was still being annoying and wouldn’t be aware that anyone else existed — but she still wasn’t going to take any chances of him overhearing her having an opinion. So she just nodded in agreement.

Ky obediently set them down, and glanced up at Pratik. As if he knew what to do either. And yet he knew she got anxious left to her own devices. And she seemed frustrated with the studying. He bit his lip then mouthed. “Ada?”
That was a good idea. She could probably use a friend. Ky nodded and turned away from the table. Pratik grabbed one of the books and sat down. It’d be more efficient the other way around — if he went and Ky stayed. But, well, maybe it’d be good for the girls to have this time alone.
