She'd been a force to be reckoned with, never really in a good mood but never in a bad one either, and with a tongue like fire. She admired the Isi, thank god, or else Ada wasn't sure her mother would have been as happy as she was when they left.

“I really am.” Ky smiled and nodded, though she had a prick of imposter syndrome at her words. Here she was, worried about wasting General Xander’s time, when she’d been wasting a ‘legend’s’ time for the past two months. And he pretended to be enjoying it. And she was dumb enough to believe him. “He’s very kind.”

"Maybe. We'll see." That did sound nice, but Ada wasn't sure she'd be able to get up here on her own. She'd need to go into a city to purchase supplies for a trek north, and that appealed to her even less than it had before she'd been captured.
