The moment Ky was gone, Gaius wrapped his arms tightly around himself and let out another shaky breath, which quickened again until he was nearly gasping. He tucked his head forward and prayed Sara would get here soon; he felt fully nauseous.

Ky kept herself at a walk, but it could only barely be considered one. Where would Sara be? The... library? Or... outside? Would Sera know? Would a servant? Who could she even ask for help, without having to admit what had happened? She wouldn't tell other people what had happened.
The infirmary seemed like her best bet. She resolved to head that direction first, and hope that she happened to run into Sara along the way, even though that seemed unlikely.

Gaius's bad hand was twitching and curling as he tried to focus his mind on something that wouldn't drive him mad. His first thought was to think fo how excited he had been when he met Rönn, but that just made him anxious now. Next he thought of Ky, but that resulted in humiliation. He'd let her see him like this. He was supposed to be her security for and he'd come up from the prison a complete wreck instead. Bay had done all the talking, and he knew Bay hated talking almost as much as he did.

Ky made it to the third floor quickly, slightly winded from the speed at which she’d taken the stairs, and yet she still hurried to the infirmary. She took a second to compose herself, still breathing heavy but forcing herself not to pant. She lifted her hand and knocked, making sure it was clear and moderately loud, but not as urgent as she felt.

Goddamn it. She knocked again, a bit firmer this time. Where was Sera? Rickard? Weren’t they supposed to be here in case someone needed something? Gods. Where else could she check for Sara? Who else could she ask?

Ky growled in frustration and rushed to the library next. Taking a longer moment to compose herself this time so that she didn’t appear as flustered as she was, then strode inside and glanced around, hoping she’d find Ingrid easily if Sara wasn’t immediately visible.

Sara wasn't anywhere to be seen, and neither was Ingrid. One of the other Librarians approached Ky with a smile. "Welcome back!" he said. "What can we do for you?"

“Hi!” Ky forced a quick smile, taking a moment to make sure she didn’t come across as panicked as she felt. “Do you happen to know where Sara is?”

He thought for a moment. "She might be in the nursery with the children, or in her room. I haven't seen her today; I'm sorry."

“Quite alright.” She forced herself to maintain the smile. “Could you point me in the right direction? I’m afraid I’m not quite sure where either of those places are.”

"Certainly!" He stepped toward the door. "They're right beside each other, on the fourth floor. The nursery is the fourth door on the left, and Lord and Lady Ash's room is the one right after that."

“Wonderful, thank you.” Ky flashed another tight smile, taking a quick step towards the door. “I think I can find it on my own now — thank you.”
She didn’t need to have witnesses for when she spoke to Sara. But at least those were close. If she wasn’t there, gods only knew what Ky would do.
