Zander returned the smile and nodded, then turned back towards Ky.
She was still walking quickly to make sure she stayed at the front of the pack. She didn’t want to talk to any of them. Didn’t want to get interrogated anymore. Didn’t want Emery to join the attack-Ky-party. She focused on keeping her breathing even, expression neutral, and shoulders squared. Her heart was beating out of her chest but on the whole she was channeling her Kyber persona well, now that she was really focusing on it. She quickly started up the stairs.

Ada was close behind. "What's she look like?" she asked. "She might not still be there."

She pulled the door open and held it for them again.

They all stepped inside. There were different soldiers fighting now, though the gargantuan Gisli was still happily swinging at a different opponent with his greatsword. The opponent, a man of average height and weight, was rapidly losing energy.

“That’s who she beat,” Ky murmured, gesturing with her chin. She buried her hands deep in her pockets and folded in on herself, getting very small again.

Ada's eyes widened, and her mouth dropped open. The giant over there? Really? "I have to meet this lady," she said in awe. "You're joking."

“I’m not.” Ky shook her head, trying for a smile, but not really managing it. “… he was very good natured about it.”
Zander glanced at the man, then back at Ky, pieces falling into place. She must be utterly terrified of the woman that could cut a man that size down. And to think of having to either have her swinging a sword at your head or be the one to personally reject her as a trainer? No wonder Ky was so anxious.

"Where is she?" Ada scanned the area. She couldn't see any women that matched Kazhra's description. Maybe she was somewhere else in the barracks? Or in the Keep?

Ada followed after her. Emery hung back near Zander, watching Gisli with admiration. "That's a fine fellow there," he mused. "Very friendly, very strong."
