As a teenager, I had to drink coffee every morning to get out of bed. My grandmother wanted it that way. And I hate coffee. I hated drinking it. Even after you've brushed your teeth, this disgusting taste remained in me and it wasn't until I was 18 that I was allowed to stop drinking it.

That was also because I just didn't wake up in the morning, and my grandmother thought that the coffee would wake me up.

Oh, wow, that sounds horrible.

You see from my own experience I can drink decaf and everything will be just fine. I ended up not sleeping the first night of a trip recently. I decided I would have my second cup of coffee ever. What I discovered was that after 1 sip I almost went face down in my food. The next day I was quite refreshed and tried again, I started yawning after finishing my coffee. I believe I had an expresso the first day and a black the next. I came to the conclusion that caffeinated coffee makes me tired. Luckily, as a teenager, I created habits to get myself out of bed. I was much worse as a pre-teen when my Dad used to wake me up, this would proceed in his call not waking me up about 30% of the time and me either oversleeping or being grumpy because he turned the light on.
