Yeah, this day was particularly bad, because I had to go to immigration that day and we were supposed to leave at like 9:30 and, uh, yeahhhh it was a bad situation. I got soooo paranoid about my alarm after that haha

That whole day was ngl -- no one at immigration spoke English, so I went with the receptionist from my school but her English was a bit shaky, so they were just thrusting documents at me going "sign here" but it was all in Thai and I had literally 0 idea what I was signing.

woke up late -- frantically flagged down a motorcycle taxi -- run into school and get yelled at -- get in a taxi for a mostly-silent 45 minute drive -- sit in awkward silence at immigration for 3 hours -- get told to sign a bunch of papers I didn't understand -- another 45 minutes back to school. I can't remember if I ate until I got back, either haha

Yeppp -- as I mentioned, Thailand was an overall traumatic experience for me xD but I learned a lot!

Yep! Bangkok! But it was, like, real-Bangkok, not tourist-Bangkok. So no one outside of my school spoke English... very isolating. I tried my best to learn Thai but it's a very, very challenging language for native English speakers to learn (I looked it up at the time -- I think it's like 4th? most difficult one)

I did! I saw a lot of temples. I think Wat Pho and Wat Arun were my favorites. I also went on a boat tour. And they had this mall that was like 8 stories tall and every floor was themed as a different country.

Nice! It's a really cool culture! I had a hard time adjusting because I'd only ever left America for a single-week-long guided service trip once in my life. So being 9k miles from home on my own for the first time in a country where I couldn't speak the language and had trouble eating the food because it's all absurdly spicy, it was just a recipe for disaster aha but I'd like to go back for a visit sometime!
