Lost in Time

Susan looked around the place. It didn't look like much, but it wasn't quite as creepy as she'd feared it was going to be. Susan decided that she might as well take a seat. She had after all been doing quite a bit of running in the past few minutes.

"Thank you," said Susan, after a few seconds of silence, "what is this place?"

"Oh, it's a..." Rana looked around, not quite sure how to explain it. She rubbed the back of her neck. "It's a place all the important people have forgotten about. Essentially, it doesn't exist. Only a few of us know it's here."

Maybe she shouldn't have brought a complete stranger into their inner sanctum. But she seemed like she needed help. Surely the boys would be okay with that, once she explained the situation. At least, she hoped they would.

"Ohh...kay," said Susan, nodding slowly. She knew better than to ask the girl to elaborate. Places that essentially didn't exist were a concept she'd gotten quite familiar with and usually the people that lived in those places didn't appreciate too many questions about them.

"Uhh," said Susan awkwardly, not quite knowing what to say.

Rana looked at the girl curiously. “What’s your name, anyway?”

Susan breathed an internal sigh of relief as the girl said something. "Uhh...I'm Susan."

"Rana," Rana answered. She glanced around. "So... who's chasing you?"

"I'm not really sure," said Susan, "I was just, well, its a long story."

"I've got time," Rana said, offering a smile.

"Alright," said Susan, giving the girl a small smile in return. "Umm, my sisters and I were just roaming through the town together earlier, and then, its just...well, all I know is suddenly I wake up sometime later all alone and my sisters are nowhere to be found. My memory is kinda fuzzy, so I can't even figure out how long its been, for all I know, I was out for like a day. And well..I just kind of started running away from that place."

"That's so scary!" Rana said. She felt bad for Susan, even though she barely knew her. "So your sisters are out there, too? Do they need help?"

"I hope so," said Susan, voice cracking for a second, "I don't know what might've happened to them. I need to start looking but I don't know how or where."

"What do they look like?" Rana asked.

Susan took a moment to ensure she wasn't going to lose her composure. "Umm, one of my sisters look pretty much the same as me, she's maybe an inch or so taller, the one is like a foot or so taller, black hair, green eyes."

Rana nodded slowly, trying to figure out a plan for what they would do. Susan clearly needed help, and she planned to give it. "Okay... we'll find them, okay? It's all going to be okay. We will find them."

Susan didn't quite know how to respond to that. Having a complete stranger like that would offer help like that was not something she was used to.

"Thh..ank you," she managed after a while. She didn't know how much help Rana could be, especially if she was as she seemed and just a regular person, but, she'd take any help she could get at this point with every other possible option having failed.
