INTRO
The world has ignored the scientists and now it is almost too late. The richest and most "important" people were moved into domes in Canada, Iceland, and Greenland full of fresh air and green plants, kept at a pleasant temperature year round.
The rest of the world suffers from sickness, lack of clean water, foul air, and scarce food supplies, and it's only getting worse. The remaining scientists of the world have warned that the end is at hand for everyone outside of the safe areas for those lucky enough to be inside. Those fortunate enough to have any level of education are mostly farmers and engineers. Earth is nearly uninhabitable.
Now, though, change is coming. Even though it's January 2078, temperatures in New England have soared to record highs-- 50s at night, 70s during the day. A broadcast sent out on an old radio system by a trio of NASA scientists warns that the end may be at hand. The only true hope fr the human race is to evacuate to Mars. An atmosphere exists on Mars-- it had been formed back in the 30s, but the plan to evacuate was abandoned because of the costs-- but the only issue is how to get there.
It is up to the remnants of humanity to convince the wealthy to join them on their mission to Mars. Should their journey northwest be successful, both sides will need one another to survive...

The trashed ruins of Boston, Massachusetts in January 2078 for people outside of the safe zones. Parts of the city will be underwater. The safe zone that the characters will head towards will be in Ottawa, Canada. Flooding, raiders, gangs, and other dangers will lie between Boston and Ottawa. On foot and following the roads, the shortest route is 401 miles.
