I go through phases with tv shows, getting totally into a set of characters, knowing the whiole thing backwards and forwards, reading too much fanfiction, quoting lines, the whole shebang.
My current faves are
The West Wing (My current obsession, CJ is possibly the best character I've ever, uh, met)
Monk (missing shorona, but I was surprised how quickly i liked Natalie)
Farscape (Two words, Aeryn Sun. to bad sci-fi almost never shows it these days)
Star Gate Atlantis (infinitely superior to it's predescessor)
This is Wonderland (quirky canadian Lawyer show)
Judging Amy (guilty pleasure)
ST Voyager (old friend)
MASH (as always)
faves who have dropped by the Wayside
The X-files(the truth is ... complicated)
crossing Jordan
La Femme Nikita
Enterprise
the Pretender (cringing that i ever liked it, but still)
I adore many TV shows. (Sadly) My favorite overall is CSI, but the full list goes as followed:
CSI
CSI Miami
CSI NY
Without a Trace
Law and order SVU
Cold Case
NCIS
Las Vegas
Friends
Ok, so you could say I have a little to much time on my hands (Alright, so I am sitting at my computer watching a CSI marathon and eating cookies... i have WAY to much time on my hands)

Faves that are still currently on (in order):
1. Gilmore Girls - this is easily the wittiest show on tv. It's got great characters and believable storylines.
2. The OC - yeah, some people say this show stinks, and lately it has, but 1st season was great. It had good characters too, even if the storylines were a little off (Theresa lying about being pregnant to Ryan? Uh, no), and most of all, Seth Cohen - "Oh I get it, I'm just here for comic relief."
3. 24 - it's got awesome suspense and the best, most unpredictable plot twists. No wonder viewers keep coming back. Also, a great hero who always has us rooting for him (Go Jack!) and a faster death rate than any other show on tv (except maybe CSI).
4. Veronica Mars - one major problem I have is how tv undermines teens and their intelligence (cough cough 7th heaven cough). Veronica does not do that at all. Of course, we immediately fall in love with Veronica, with her quick wit and humor, and each episode gives us a new mystery while the entire season moves steadily toward a greater mystery - who killed Veronica's best friend, Lily Kane? (My money's on the dad, Jack Kane.)
5. Lost - another show with great plot twists and characters. It tells the character's backgrounds through flashbacks, very original, and it's totally interesting because all of the characters actually saw each other before the plane crash!
6. Grey's Anatomy - it's only been on for a couple weeks, but I already love it.
these are other shows that are good, but I don't always have time to watch:
Alias, 8 Simple Rules, Tru Calling, Scrubs, Desperate Housewives, The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, Arrested Development
shows that I used to watch but have declined:
One Tree Hill, 7th Heaven, Joan of Arcadia
PHS marching band kicks butt!
sequential, lieutenant gay man, dr. beat, nickate, jessie, joshie, and xena
if you understand who these nicknames refer to
i pity you
