Spoiler
Look at you being an overachiever and writing 11 poems all before the third day of NaPo (in my time zone, at least)! You're killing it already Arc!

I really love the way you've chosen this theme of discovery and connected it with religion. One thought that really struck me was "sometimes I wonder // if we are prayers // answered in flesh // sent to fill absences // of ourselves". This to me is a really beautiful way of describing the importance of each life and gave me some hope tonight. Great job so far, Arc! I look forward to seeing what tomorrow brings! :D

[Poem #5 - "flashbacks: languages"]

"And among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth,
and the diversity of your languages and colors.
Truly there are signs in this for those who know."

— The Quran [30:22]

Arcticus, I'm always in awe of pretty much everything you write. Your poems are beautiful, nostalgic. The way you employ language is simply magical. You have such an understanding and talent for rhythm, imagery, word choice, formatting, all of it. I love everything about your poems, the themes, language, formatting, aesthetic. If you are published by any chance, I'd love to know so I could buy your poetry book, and if you're not then you should be.

I love this year's theme of your culture and I love the description of "juggling languages" in "flashbacks: languages." The line about "watching words appear like eye-floaters" was a stunning image too. Thank you for sharing your incredible poetry on YWS for us to read.
"A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language." - W.H. Auden
