I loved reading "September Love" by Lang Leav. She has had an interesting life and I love her perspective, especially her poems about God.
Who's to say that my light is better than your darkness? Who's to say death is better than your darkness? Who am I to say?

i recently reread my book of leonard cohen's poetry. a lot of juxtaposition of love and loss, the sacred and the profane, etc. it's pretty neat. i have always been a fan of his music, but his poetry feels more personal to me.

No matter how much time passes, no matter what takes place in the interim, there are some things we can never assign to oblivion, memories we can never rub away.

I've been on a huge Neruda kick. I am currently rereading "100 Love Sonnets" and it is just as beautiful as the first time I did. Timeless!!

Neruda isn’t merely feeling love ~~ He becomes love, turning flesh into verse, into something more eternal. There is no passivity in this loving, no idle waiting for something to happen. There's a constant undoing and re-becoming. He was a controversial person, but his poetry is truly something amazing. ^_^

The bigger the issue, the smaller you write. Remember that. You don’t write about the horrors of war. No. You write about a kid’s burnt socks lying on the road. You pick the smallest manageable part of the big thing, and you work off the resonance.
