Jack's Avatar Attempts Thread

So, after never finding any avatars I like (except Cal's, of course) I thought I'd try and make my own. I don't own photoshop, but I do have the damn useful Gimp (free photoediting program). Since I just watched Gladiator, I thought I'd make a couple based off that. Comments welcomed.

Oh, and I used Theo's very useful avatar-making thread. Kudos to Theo!

Pretty cool. Did you know you can tweak the colors to get a more "exotic" photo? I like the first one, though, not too bad for a beginner. ^_~.

Yeah, I was tewaking with the colours somewhat in the first one. That's why there's a somewhat purple shade in it.

Great movie. I like how you can actually read the text on those avatars. It's always good when you can do that. I like the second one's emotion.

Jack: Have you looked at ArtWeaver 0.4? Its a great program, just like Photoshop. Except free. Give it a whirl!

Nice pieces, you might want to try to darken the back-ground pics tho. More dynamic that way.
