Burning Rejection

"You can eat as much as you want, Loki." I smile, "I am gonna go to bed, keep the doors locked and close the windows. Eat all you want, And the tv remote is right here is you wanna change the channel."

I stand up and toss the spoon in the sink, and walk to my bedroom door, "You can sleep in here if you want, on the couch."

"Thankyou!" my eyes sparkle....

"Sugar rush." I laugh. "Don't die of sugar overdose."

I crack my door, and hop in bed.

"Wait! Do you have blankets??????" I yell.

"I am fine I don't think I will need it, Ughhh, I am going to be going to school this morning.........." I sigh unhappilly..

"YES!!" I get up and run outta the room. "What school?"

"College? Probably yours... Would you show me around when we get there?" I sit slouched in the kitchen chair.

"Yeah. Sure." I walk over and sit in the chair across from his. "Its not that hard. Are you in any art classes?"

Art. Why would loki be in art? I mean, he was so happy over ice cream. He is like a puppy, he just needs some love. I catch myself thinking, and mentally slap myself.

"As far as I know I am pretty good at art. I sketched in my free time in Asgard when I wasn't training with the Valkyries to fight. Oden and the rest of the guards didn't have time to teach me to defend myself... Why bother with an orphan who will never gain the throne anyway?" I take another bite of my ice cream which was suddenly bitter in my mouth. Why am I telling her this?

"Oh. I am sorry." I reach out to touch his arm, then re think it and draw it back, but not wanting to, oddly.

I want to lean into her touch but I instinctively draw away you don't just touch an open wound...

"I am sorry." I blush.

I look away, "I am fine.." I eat another bitter sweet bite of ice cream..

"You sure?"

"Yes I am fine..", broken inside but fine....
