Danni stumbled through the woods, trying to keep an eye on Marcia and at the same time not fall over. She heard voices up ahead and peered out from behind a tree.
A group of people were clustering around a girl lying on the ground. One of them looked like a skeleton of some kind. A grim reaper? Danni whirled around and addressed Marcia. "Don't try anything. I'll be keeping an eye on you." She stepped out from behind the tree and called to the people. "Do you need any help?"

Nobody told me we could have powers!

I stepped forward, but kept my head down. I couldn't let them see me, not yet. It probably wouldn't affect the reaper, who was ticking me off, but the rest of them, not yet. Another girl stubbled through and said something after I moved closer, but I wasn't paying attention. Through my hair I was focused on every move Angel was making, coming up with different ways I could hurt her in that moment.
