So, Alexander Rakham is sort of my character, but mostly he's going to be an NPC. He's important, though, and it's possible that I'll want to make a post or two for him, so I didn't put the owner as NPC. And he's also been appointed First Mate of the Windracer for the duration of the voyage, a decision made by the enigmatic sponsor and one that pretty much everyone but Rakham is unhappy about. I'll need someone to be the former First Mate. Also, someone can be the Quartermaster if they want to.

BTW, how many characters can we have? I was thinking about maybe having two characters that come on the ship together (not sure if they're part of the original crew), either siblings or just former ship mates

I guess you can have more than one if you're sure you can keep up with all of them. I only have two because Alexander Rakham is more of an NPC, but he's important and I may end up writing a post or two for him. But if you want to, you can have up to two. Beyond that is just too many.
