Regarding the moral compass, you can always just use the chart that defines you as Chaotic Evil, Righteous Good, etc. (Not sure what it's called atm)

I wanted to ask, if a legionnaire's memory is stolen, what exactly happens? Do they become hollow drones, or do they still have personality? Are only their memories stolen, so they just remember that they serve Iron Star? Are they aware that they have no memories?

Actually, it's a good idea to just explain in detail what happens when a persons memory is stolen I think.

When an individuals memories get stolen, they still retain the essential code in their minds (thus the ability to speak, love, hate, trust, fear, fight, etc) They are thus not mindless drones who waddle around doing nothing.

The Chrono who steals their memory also doesn't suddenly start to think like that person. Think of the brain as a computer, where the Chrono's past memories are all in compressed files, and the memories they take are harddrives added to the Chrono's brain in which to start decompressing their old memories. (start being the operative word... It takes time) They do, however, keep certain knowledge the Legionnaire had (like about languages, how to use tech, educated knowledge, etc), which is why they need to steal more memories (since those above-mentioned retention knowledge also "takes up" space in these "harddrives")
The other, "irrelevant" memories, like a graduation day, marriages, loss, achievements, friendships, important news, etc, are not "deleted", however, but merely get compressed like the Chrono's past memories were (so you might one day regain your memories )

Regarding the servitude- Any individual whose memory gets stolen tends to serve the person who stole their memories. The reason for this is because the Chrono and the individual form a mental (maybe psychic, that part is up for you to decide) bond, as the essentially "share" the same harddrive(s))
This means that your character might not even serve the Iron Star per se, but rather a Chrono who serves him/her instead (meaning you might still fight against the Iron Star ) This could even lead to non-Legionnaires serving a Chrono who is resisting the Iron Star, etc.
They won't know why they're serving this individual though, but yes, it will essentially be the "oldest" memory the have.

The way the Chronos steal the memories also varies from Chrono to Chrono, so where one might need to physically touch a person, another might only have to stare into a person's eyes, etc. They also can't steal the stolen memories from another Chrono.
