Use this thread to talk about anything relating to the Paragraph Poem event! You can ask questions here, too. However, please do NOT post your entries in this thread - they won't be counted if you do. Post them in the official thread. :D

Hi @Mea. I just wanted to ask if I could enter poems that have already been written?

@felistia - I think I'm going to go ahead and say no, just because I want everyone to have had equal amounts of time to write their poems. Sorry!

how does the scoring work? I placed third, but can people who didn't place still compete? How do you guys choose a winner?
And the heart is hard to translate
It has a language of its own
It talks in tongues and quiet sighs,
And prayers and proclamations

@Gravity - Anyone can compete in as many or as few of the events as they choose, regardless of scoring in previous events. The scoring works like this: for each event, there is a first, second, and third place winner. First place is awarded 3 points, second place 2 points, and third place 1 point. At the end, we'll tally up everybody's score and the person with the highest points wins!

As for how we choose, the person who's hosting the event does all of the judging for that event. So Wolfical picked the winners for the Shape Poems, and I'll be picking the winners for this event. ;)

My poem itself is exactly 300 words. Is that okay, or will the title also be counted in the word count?

@tgirly - Titles don't have to count! I probably should have mentioned - the word count is a bit flexible. A few words under or over isn't a big deal.

Oh good, I'm glad. I didn't think the title would, but I just wanted to double-check. Thanks, Mea! 8)

@krazkat - I'm a little confused. If you just submit your entry in a spoiler, you can just put the title on top, like other entries have done here Event 2: Paragraph Poetry For example:

Title here
Spoiler
Example poem here.

Here's the code if you don't know how to make spoilers or bold things:
Code: Select all
Title here
Example poem here.
