This really isn't a writing tip, but a resource. Several years ago tired of writing the same colors over and over again: (green, blue, yellow, black, white, or adding light or dark to the front of the color), I sat down with a thesaurus and dictionary and made myself a simple color thesaurus. Now going through my creativity dumpter, I found the sheet again. I thought I'd share. If anyone has any questions on what the actual colors are, I'll post those too.

Yours,
CL.

Haha... oh definitely. The freak would be freaking out definitely. ;)

One question though:

beryl

If I am correct, then beryl is of the same chemical composition (beryllium aluminum silicate or Be3Al2Si6O18, if you prefer) of emerald. There are other variations of colors, of course, like sapphires, but mostly beryl is green. So wouldn't it be considered green?

*nods* This actually comes from my art text, beryl is both considered blue and green. I am putting beryl under green, as well, now.

Colour synonyms are like poetry - beautiful just for their sound.

Brilliant, CL. ^_^

(But topaz 'tis yellow/gold, Snoink. Unless it's a blue topaz.)

Maybe? It's mostly brown though... or auburn.
