Enjoying retirement had been eclipsed by aches and pains and ever-poorer eyesight and dentures and brittle hair and abundant doctor’s appointments and far too many pills that had to be taken at the correct time on the right days and soft foods and rubber-soled shoes.

Looks like I was doing a review! For once yeesh
Turns out to be on this lovely thing by @BlueAfrica

I believe that we're biologically attuned to understand a handful of objective ethics. However, understanding does not mean that one respects them.

People are born as they were meant to exist in the State of Nature. They are prone to good and prone to evil, although evil is really more so the result of one's subverted interpretation of what may be good. That sense of basic morality, however, is dependent upon one's upbringing.

However, I don't think it's even all that useful to categorize people as being good or bad by themselves. Factors such as morality & individual intent really don't mean anything. What defines an action as being good or bad is the consequence of said action.

For instance, a greedy Hollywood celebrity decides that he wants to get into the spotlight for whatever reason, so he donates one million dollars to Save the African Children Ltd. or whatever. The money is extremely crucial into helping improve lives. That was the ethical decision & it was the good decision, as it helped people. The self-serving intention of the Hollywood fellow has no weight in the greater scheme of things. He did something ethical.

Consequence is what matters most. I take this philosophical stance. It's exactly why I often defend with a fervor that the Red Wedding was justified.

This was because I found a really cool font when I was writing a story so I copy/pasted a word to save it.
Mmm, teatime. I fancy reviews and chips.

Now I'm gone
And it seems that life had never existed
So we left the dark and cold
All I left behind are my tears

Don't fear Your last step
From the theatre of pain
And the children will love Your singing
From the sea
The sea is calling
I hear them calling

Ah.... I was looking up lyrics to a Blind Guardian song.

Jealousy is a sickly, green vine that curls around the heart.
It takes the reigns from the brain and drives things down a worse course.
It flicks the fingers into forming something harder, shocks them into balling up.
The eyes glaze over from the heat of the hateful oven.
The heart is strangled, punctured by thorns from twisting roses that entwine the senses.
They threaten the false façade of a smiling face.
It makes one pitifully aware of how their own roses
Have seemingly been ignored by the gardener.
First comes the skin-flaying heat of the fire.
Then the bone numbing chill of the ice storm.
Be careful, Small One, lest your own roses wither in the cold while you admire another’s.

Yes! That's such a good book. I love the audio books too.

“What is it?” Madeline asked, seeing Ayda’s expression.
“Traveling like this is too slow,” Ayda said bluntly. “And I don’t know the land around the road well enough to make it easier.”
Madeline leaned back against the trunk. “You could go scouting
Ayda frowned. The first rule of traveling was to always have a buddy and to never leave their sight. But this wasn’t working — at this rate, it would take them three days or more to get there. She had to find an easier route for Madeline.

Hmm. I think this had something to do with diep.io...
