Good books in the horror genre?

It's as simple as the question above. I want to delve as much as I can into horror, and believe me, I've done a lot of it.
Still, any good suggestions?
I myself would recommend you all to read Jay's Journal, very haunting story of satanic ritual in a teen's life.

If you're okay with radio dramas and/or audio books, I'm a big fan of the No Sleep Podcast.

I'm also a big fan of House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski, but I felt it was more romance than horror so ymmv.

There was a point at my life where I loved Stephen King, but I got over it.

One of the funniest books I've ever read is Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk. I don't know your age or whatever you read, but from a 14 year old with a really dark sense of humor, this is golden.

Note: It's way better than Fight Club and any other novel he's written

Communion by Whitley Strieber will spook you for sure.

I'm not usually one for horror, but here are some you might find awesome

If you love zombies and Star Wars, you'd love these books. They're soooo creepy. Think of zombie stormtroopers and zombie Sith Lords...

Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake is a good one.

Stephen King (if you haven't read him yet).

He wrote his best books a couple decades ago, but wow, I do NOT want to know what goes on in his mind. I read Mr. Mercedes, thought, okay, not bad, and turned to his more character-driven novels: Misery and The Shining.

The Shining didn't scare me much (rotting corpse in bathtub, yada yada yada). I read it over the span of a week. I read Misery in one sitting.
