To @NicoleBri: That makes a lot more sense. Also, the Quill has a further advantage of undoing any spells, curses, magical problems etc., so Xander and Anette will be able to return to their own bodies by using the Quill.
To @TakeThatYouFiend: Seeing as our companyas now entered Gzomriflt, they will most likely encounter the Goblin outpost inside. To add to our problems, I suggest that maybe the Priedtess of Deela herself (with a army of Giants) arrives at Gzomriflt, one to retrieve the Star and two , tp most likely retrieve the Quill as well. Thus she would naturally fight all who oppose her (including the Goblins, Glameor's forces, Kollek and Jorgen, Fairies, etc.)

@TheWanderingWizard, I have some queries.

1. I initially wanted Gzomrflt to be occupied by goblins, but now @methrirr123 has established that it is occupied by orcs. As a result, I am writing my post based on that, but if we are still going with goblins, could sombody say so soon?

2. Who gets the Quill? From what I can tell, methrirr wants Kollek to have it, since he's a dwarf. I agree, and we have discussed Kollek becoming Fazad-Birfl's Item Guardian, so that would be perfect. However, Kollek has a very begrudging nature. Thus, I doubt he would let anyone else have a look at it, and much less use it.

3. If Kollek does get the Quill and refuses to let anyone else use it, which seems very likely, neither you nor @NicoleBri can have your characters (Annette and Xander) use the Quill to return to their actual bodies, so they (and therefore you) have to find another way.

4. On Wednesday, we privately discussed a potential development. If Diánterrus and Dresdan escape with Sarris, Annette, Xander and Kevin will rush back to Dominic informing him of this. Dominic will then have to choose between the knowledge for chich he came to Gzomrflt in the first place, and Sarris. He will be torn, but will ultimately choose the knowledge and abandon Sarris. (plot twist! <- remember that? ;) )

After that, Kevin and Annette will probably be shocked with Dominic's decision, accuse him of abandoning his friend, and go after Diánterrus and Dresdan by themselves - after all, they never really wanted to go to Gzomrflt per se. (@TakeThatYouFiend and @NicoleBri, is that fine by you?) Xander will say Dominic saved his life and he didn't really know Sarris, so he'll stick with him.

In the end, it seems only Kollek will be getting the Quill, though he and Jorgen will still have to face off against that Goblin sorceror. (Wanderer, you and methrirr will have to discuss that on your own.) In light of this, I suggest we move away from including the quill in our plotting and rather focus on our other objectives.

@r4p17, Renalf, Gamleor and Roco are already sorted, so please don't be offended that I didn't mention you. (Aurora will rejoin the discussion when she is ready, so I didn't mention her either.)

While I addressed these queries to Wanderer, I would appreciate the input of everyone who is involved.

@JamesHunt, to what goblin sorcerer are you referring?

Has Wanderer not discussed it? *sighs* I must retire to my bed soon, so I shall elaborate in the morning. (Perhaps then I shall submit my post as well...)

@jameshunt I want Annette back to her normal self so something has to happen to fix them. Any ideas anyone?

Why does Dominic not try to reverse the side-effects of the teleportation chant/spell by reproducing it under the same circumstances? (So Annette and Xander will have to touch each other while being teleported.) He has the power to do it, and since Gzomfrlt is occupied by goblins/orcs, the presence of the Quill can hardly block out Dominic's ability to draw power from the Star. (Although, that might be different if he were to enter the chamber in which the Quill is kept.)

I have posted! Alright, for the explanation...

@TheWanderingWizard and I have been discussing High Fantasy and its magic. Here is the result:

Wanderer decided to create the categories under which magic would be classified, seeing as there weren't any, and came up with the six Realms of Magic.
~ Consider it to be in the shape of a hexagon, the first corner pointing up. This corner represents the realm of magic known as Restoration, which includes such things as healing and blessing.
~ The next corner, pointing right up, represents the realm of magic known as Conjuration. By using it, one can conjure many things, including living beings. However, these beings survive only while their life is sustained by the mage who conjured them, and, as you can imagine, they drain magic qutie fast. This is the realm in which Dominic is most profficient.
~ The next corner points right down and represents the realm of magic known as Destruction. The vast majority of mages specialise in this realm, since it includes all magic which can be used in fair combat. This is the realm in which Oqrol is most profficient.
~ The next corner points directly down and represents the realm of magic known as Damnation. It is the opposite of Restoration and includes the vilest and darkest of magic, e.g. necromancy and curses. Pursuing this kind of magic corrupts the mind and soul, as well as the body, if the mage is careless.
~ The next corner, pointing left down, represents the realm of magic known as Illusion. The name is self-explanatory, but the effects of the illusions vary. It is the opposite of Conjuration, since it only appears as if something is created. For example, a glamour spell seems to change the appearance of one's features, but physical contact would break the illusion and prove otherwise. However, a morphing spell actually would change one's features, but morphing spells can vary easily have unforseen side-effects, so they are generally avoided.
~ Finally, the last corner, pointing left up, represents the realm of magic known as Protection. Naturally, it is the opposite of Destruction, and it includes all magical barriers, but it is possible for fire mages, who specialise in Destruction, to create defensive fire walls. Although, they won't be able to create very strong magical barriers outside of their chosen element.

So, those are the Realms of Magic. The spheres of magic are far more numerous. Each Wizard specialsies in a sphere, e.g. while Oqrol practices Destruction, his chosen sphere is Fire. Similarly, others can choose Ice, Lightning, Water, or even Air. Other Wizards could even specialise in casting glamours. Naturally, mastery of a Realm can only occur once all Spheres have been mastered. And this leads me to @r4p17's question.

Who is this Goblin Sorceror? Well, long ago, there were six mages, each of immense power, and each of a different race. Wanderer should explain this part, but I as far as I recall, a human and a goblin mage were the ones who specialised in Destruction and Damnation, but I cannot remember specifically who specialised in which Realm. Either way, these mages were very powerful and could therefore live to an extraordinary age. For some reason, this goblin wants the Quill; like I said, I cannot remember why, so Wanderer should explain it.

I hope this helps.

Thank you James for elightening the rest about the Realms.
Now, as my dear friend mentioned, long ago there were six mages, each of a different race and the master of a different sphere. Each mage also had an itemwhich the used to channel their magic, which therefore made those objects extremely powerful.
Very well, on to the mages.
Restoration, the purest Realm, was mastered by a High Elf, who channeled her magic throigh a ring.
Conjuration, closely related to Restoration, was mastered by a Shadow Elf, who channeled his magic through his wuzard's hat (being extremely intelligent and all)
Next realm was Destruction, which was mastered by a Goblin, who channeled his magic through an ebony wand.
Damnation, the corruptable realm, was mastered by an ambitious Human, who naturally channeled his magic through a staff.
Illusion was mastered by an Ollemcrat, who transfered a portion of her magic into a cloak.
And finally Protection, which was mastered by a Dwarf, who channeled his magic through a pair of gloves.

Now basically, the Man and Goblin sought to control all six objects, and waged war on the other four. But through cunning and guile the Four managed to stealthe staff and hide it in a magical vault.
Fearing that the Goblin and Man would hunt them down, the Four hid their objects, as they were the only way to retrieve the Staff.
The reason why the Goblin therefore requires the Quill, is because the Quill can also draw a map to any place, person, item you are seeking (provided that you have the correct ink and spell) All six mages are still living, but some went into hiding, lived as hermits, or as rulers (the Man became king of a Human kingdom)

This is what me and James discussed, but it is open to criticism and suggestions.

@r4p17, slow down a little! Almost every second post is yours... I shall write the next part soon, but I cannot say exactly when - the more you write, however, the more difficult you make things for me, because then I have to continuously adapt my version.

Oh! I understand now, @r4p17. Well, because Aurora is dealing with her friend's death and @TakeThatYouFiend, @TheWanderingWizard, @NicoleBri and @methrirr123 (and myself) are posting less frequently, I suppose it can be ignored for now. Besides, Christmas and the New Year are quickly approaching, so people could be preoccupied. Overall, I'd say we should follow the general tempo.

Hey guys, Thursday starts my Christmas break for two weeks! So, as far as YWS is concerned, I have no clue when I can get on to post. Urgh, this just isn't great timing. However, I will try my best to get some posts in over my break, they will most likely be short but it is the best I can do. :) Sorry for the inconvenience.

What! No posts in nine days? What is happening to this? This is looking like a stagnant, and possibly dying storybook. :-/
