And prayers and proclamations

I'm right handed... but I'm teaching myself to use both my hands- it bothers me that one is less capable.

Interesting question.

I can write with either, though I am much more effective/neater with the right hand. I play most ball sports with the left as the dominant hand, but can only play tennis and throw a frisbee with the right. I eat with either, but I think I am better with the right. However, when I have to cut meat or something the fork goes in the left hand. It's just more comfortable that way. When I hold a baseball bat or a golf club I am right handed. Sometimes what I find is that I can only operate a touch-screen phone effectively/hold it comfortably with my left hand, but that fluctuates day-to-day.

...I guess you could say I'm ambidextrous. :P

I'm a righty, like most people. Supposedly 90% of the world is right-handed, 9.999% is left and the tiny fraction left is ambidextrous. Left handedness is supposedly more common in men.

Also, mixed handedness is also possible. Where individuals have a dominant hand, but can perform certain tasks better with the opposite hand. Some baseball players who are right handed bat better from the left! @GreenLight24 I would guess that you are actually right dominant with mixed handedness. (Based on what you described)

I, along with a lot of people, am right-handed.

I believe that most people are right-handed because in a religon sense, the left hand is considered bad/evil.

Just my thought.

Nope 70% of it has to do with genetics and the rest with personal experience. Has nothing to do with any religion, its just the hand you decided to use first. People have inclinations like that from the moment they are born. As far as I am aware only one religion sees it as a bad thing and they only think that way because the majority used their right hand at the time (just like now) the misunderstanding was raised, so they thought left handed people must have something wrong with them.

Which is not a surprise because humans don't like anything too different from the collective. They preach uniqueness but they all freak out when someone is different from themselves.

Left-handed all the way.

Hand dominance is determined by your cerebral cortex dominance. For example, I'm left handed, which means that the right hemisphere of my brain is dominant over the left. However, since I do many things with my right hand as well, both of the hemispheres are more in sync. People that are born ambidextrous have hemispheres that communicate very fluidly.

However, being a lefty or ambidextrous doesn't necessarily mean that you're smarter than someone who isn't. Remember that Albert Einstein was solidly right-handed.

Many past cultures were biased against left-handers. For example, the Latin word for 'left' was 'sinister', having a negative connotation. Not only that, but the word for 'right' was 'dexter' - the root word for 'dexterity' and other positive terms. In fact, 'ambidextrous' literally means 'right-handed on both sides'. That's how much they disliked us.
