French Books

Hi!

Can you guys recommend me any nice a and easy to read books written in French? It would help me a lot with my studies. Thank you!

Francoise Sagan write quite easy, so i would reccomend either bonjour tristesse, une certaine sourire or dans un mois dans un an.

Also, Therese desqueyroux by Mauriac is easy and rather enjoyable. And la chute by Camus is good, slightly more challenging but not too difficult

I'd go for some classics!

Les Misérables (The Miserable Ones) by Victor Hugo

Notre-Dame de Paris (The Hunchback of Notre Dame) by Victor Hugo

I remember reading the French translation of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when I was preparing for my French matriculation exam a few years ago! It really helped me to read a book I had read before in English

Also, if you have access to them and are a bit more advanced with your French, the Tintin comics might be a nice way to learn! I found them quite challenging, probably because of the spoken language (I assume) so for me it was better to stick to a familiar book.

I read Le Petit Prince and the translation of Harry Potter the summer before my Leaving Cert! But I don't know how advanced your French is - that was the most I could manage.
