I've warmed up a lot to polls, so I'm making another one XD

Anyways, we've all experienced it, our favourite novels being made into movies. The question is... who did it the best? Which book made the best transition into a movie?

(Sorry if they're only the recent/more popular ones I'm doing this off the top of my head so...) I'll try to do another one next time with better options :)

Personally? I'm going to have to go with Lord of the Rings. Loved it. I loved inkheart and all of Cornelia Funke's books but the movie was atrocious.

The Hunger Games isn't the best there, but gosh ... they salvaged as much as they could. Dialogue, character quirks, all of it. In Catching Fire, when they were in Haymitch's house, I think, they didn't change a word from the book. I don't know why that part stuck out to me. Everything was just so unsettlingly accurate.

Inkheart was just ridiculously bad compared to the books >.<
The effects were nice and the casting for Dustfinger was lovely, but other than that.. They messed up so much, and then even cut themselves the opportunity of turning the sequels into movies too ;n;

I can't even think of the book I read that was REALLY well turned into a movie. Primal Fear, maybe, although I just read part of it so far..? I think I'll need some time before giving my vote to anything xP

Inkheart and Eragon were rubbish adaptions. Percy Jackson is bad if you are comparing to the book.

Catching Fire was one of my favourite book to film adaptions. :D But I did like Twilight too...

I'm not sure why many people have chosen Lord of the Rings... don't get me wrong, I love the movies. But it is not at all the same as the book. I wouldn't personally choose the Lord of the Rings, unless you mean the movie were better than the books! But maybe that's just me.

I choose the Hunger Games. Although at times I found myself explaining to my friends some details which were left to the imagination. I also found it followed the book quite well ( as well as it could ), and I was entertained by it in a slightly new way compared to the book.

P.S

I didn't see the 'other' option. So I would like to suggest that next time ( if you get around to it ) you put The Princess Bride as an option. It followed the book beautifully ( every word is the same ). The only thing they left out was some history on the characters which weren't all that important for the movie. :3
