The Fifth Academy For Heroes In Training [DT]

I chose to ignore for a few reasons, but the main of it is:

The fact that addressing the scene would also mean addressing all the implications of it. With out consent, the character tore into the heads of the student body, forcing them to see and do things for her benefit. That would lead to some major stuff, and I didn't want my post which was supposed to be a simple fight, to turn into the wake of that stuff.

West himself would prioritize the mind invasion over The Golem fight, and I assume most characters would feel something similar. Considering this was/is supposed to be a short chapter, there seemed little point in veering away from the fights for a new plot line.

Heh, I still think it's not cool to just go ahead as if nothing happened. I get it that you don't want to go into a new plotline, and that's fine, I didn't want that anyway. She didn't mean to "invade their minds" (nor did she quite do that, it's not like she could control them - or the power itself, but that aside now). I mean, if they just attacked it once, or even if they did nothing but watched it attack them, it would disappear, they could see things as they are and they'd figure it was all a lie. If you want it to be done with quickly, just walk up to her, smack her with something so she faints and everyone's good.

It's totally fine to hate Dyre or do something to her later if your characters would be mad about what she did, I counted on at least one person reacting that way.

I wouldn't have posted it if I hadn't gotten approval of it first, by the way (in case anyone was wondering).

Edit - I really don't want and don't intend to turn this into a bigger thing than it is. I'm not asking anyone to change their posts or anything, either.

On another note, Dyre won't get expelled, will she? xD Do you have something special in mind for the principal talk, or can I write it as I want it to go?

The thing that snapped them out of the illusion was Wonder Woman's upperclassmen guards restraining the students. I didn't think that Mind Control (God Moding) would be this big of an issue. Not because she put other students in danger because I don't care about that--but because it gives Dyre no power of her own without manipulating others. When I told you it was okay, I thought it would be a one-shot thing. But oy, it's all the Loki of it.

My rationale is that Dyre will have no way to fend for herself in the field without manipulating another teammate into doing something dangerous just to save her skin. So all the Loki kids are getting martial training.

Also, @StellaThomas, feel free to have an afterparty now before the issue wraps up. Issue Two begins with the first day of classes.

Lumi - You thought it was a one-shot thing because it *is* a one-shot thing, as I said a few times too, so that's all just the way we said it would be. It's making illusions which don't even really affect anyone longer than a few minutes, and which she is freaked out by too - quite far from god moding. If I had made her able to do that (as we agreed she would) AND to actually fight, I thought it would make her overpowered, and I didn't want that. *shrug*

She'll manipulate other people because that's in her character, btw, even without actual power to control them. Martial training sounds fantastic, though :3

Anyone can feel free to mention how much Aurora stinks cause she had to sweat to keep up a healing field up so people can get healed during that whole shabang.

Teams have been sorted and placed in The Reference Doc. Your characters don't know about your teams yet, so shhhhhhh.

Oh, a note. If after everyone posts and stuff one team ends up short a member, you can split Dyre and either keep her in one team but count as two or put her in both teams.
She'd hate it, but that'd also be one way of making sure she won't even try anything like the big illusion thing again, as she won't be as powerful split as she is when she's one xP

An explanation of the new icon system on the reference doc:

Tactician.
This hero type excels in coordinating group efforts. Typically, their power lies in charisma and judgment.
Blaster.
A damage-dealer who attacks from a longer range. This includes spellcasters.
Manipulator.
Manipulators are capable of controlling individuals--both friend and foe.
Healer.
This hero keeps allies in the fray while dealing their own amount of damage.
Controller.
Controllers have powers over an element or magic, and manipulate that energy or force to deal damage and disable enemies, and potentially buff allies.
Scrapper.
Scrappers are melee combatants who deal damage at close range.
Buff / Debuff / Support.
These heroes excel at keeping allies alive and enemies weak. Absolutely irreplaceable in a team dynamic.
Tanker.
Tankers hold the attention of the enemy so their allies aren't curb-stomped. They typically have higher health pools and defenses so they can take a beating--and deal one in return.

Ooh. How exciting. I think I'm liking this whole, organized event-based SBing thing.
