I personally think we should start the day that Kei goes missing (as in the girls wait to meet him in their usual spot and never do, and then chaos ensues). I don't know what that means for everybody else though.

I'd say that the lands were divided and each queen was given her own land to tweak as she pleased. As in, creating her own kingdom.
