Personality: Darien is basically all smiles, and he doesn't take life all too seriously. He'll get along with people if they don't really cause problems, and he's a real people pleaser. That's the extrovert in him, but he's a bit of an ambivert. He gets along more with people who are empathetic. Now, Darien's a loyal person. He will defend people who don't necessarily defend themselves, and he's the kind to stick to what he thinks is right and who he thinks is right. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean he's loyal to people even if they're wrong, but he will knock someone down if they're battering people for being wrong. He's also sassy and will not hesitate to tell someone if they're wrong. He's someone you can come to for advice, but not to be on your side no matter what happened. He'll comfort you -- after he says that was stupid. But, his moral compass is most almost always correct. He's not a leader unless he needs to be, but he's a good second in command.
Appearance: Darien is an average height, with a lanky build and dark curly hair. He tends to wear a bandana to keep his curls out of his eyes and it also holds his large round glasses behind his ears. Darien has deep brown eyes and full cheeks, with a hint of a dimple on his right cheek. He has a sharp jawline and a few curlie-qs on his chin. Darien is usually seen wearing a tank top and an unbuttoned Hawaiian tee over it or something similar and long shorts with multiple pockets.
Ability: Vines
Ability Strengths: Darien has found out that he has a pretty good reputation with vines, as he used to work at a flower shop, which was this old place that was incredibly picturesque with vines that crawled all over the brick building. Darien would care for the vines just like he cared for the flowers and plants, even though the owner of the place never really cared for the vines. As such, though, Darien has found himself able to connect with vines pretty easily, and while he cannot "talk" or "listen" to them, he knows what they know, and they're willing to follow up with pretty much whatever he asks.
Ability Weaknesses: So, while Darien can listen in on vines, he will quickly learn that vines tend to do what they want, no matter how much they like Darien. So he has to be very specific about his requests otherwise it will be a bit of a monkey's paw situation. So you may very well see Darien arguing with the voices in his head that aren't even voices, just vines. He's not crazy, he swears.
History: Darien was born in Texas, but moved to Atlanta when he was just a toddler. He has grown up in the area and knows it quite well. When he was 14, his mother fell ill with a mysterious illness, and his school took a backseat while he helped her recover. He didn't mind; he still had good grades, but he just didn't go above and beyond, or do much of anything after school. When he graduated high school, he had the option to go to some prestigious universities far from home, or take a break and become his mother's primary caregiver while she was going through hospice. He naturally took the latter. He found a nice local place to work at by his house, a flower shop, and put his personal life on the back burner while his mom either recovered... or didn't. During his years of working at the flower shop, he took quite a liking to the work. He was originally going to be a software engineer because that allowed him to stay home and play video games basically when he wanted, but he started learning more about plants and taking care of them. His mother's health ping-ponged between actually looking up and being back on hospice, and was taking a turn for the worse when Quarantine hit.
Where were you during Quarantine?: Quarantine happened in the middle of the evening, when Darien was closing up the shop by himself. The sun had started to set and no one else was in the shop, so he had closed a bit early to give himself some time to grab food before he went home. However, there was slamming on the door and he thought it was an angry customer, but it was military. He opened it and they forced themselves in, pricking him on his neck while holding him down. Before he could protest, they were taking him to a quarantine facility, and wouldn't answer any of his questions.
What is your stance towards FEDRA?: Oh he is not a fan of FEDRA. They removed him from his family and he can't go visit his mom. His house is in the quarantine border, so he can visit there, but it's just an empty place. He doesn't know whether or not his mother is even alive, so because of that fact alone, he will not agree with FEDRA's tactics whatsoever, no matter how rational or logical they may be. It will not take much for Darien to aggressively go against FEDRA.
Other: Darien is hispanic and does speak spanish. However, Darien's writer does not speak spanish. Sometimes, Darien will exclaim something in his native language, while his writer may try to use google translate, his writer may also just put it in italics and describe it as in spanish.
