Aumrauth Themaris

Return to Myth Arisen

Creator: soundofmind
Roleplay: Myth Arisen
Nickname: Ruth, Ruthie, Aris

Name: Aumrauth Themaris
Age: Looks 26, is actually Ancient (younger than Val by only 5 years)

Race: Elf

Role: Traitor

Appearance: Tall, lean. Long white hair, glowing white irises, and the whites of his eyes are black. Grey skin. Wears beautiful long flowing robes and fancy, tasteful jewelry. Picture soon to come!

Personality: Eccentric, obsessive, and a little obnoxious. Snarky bastard. Very talkative, and talks to himself when no one will listen, and especially when no one's around. Morally depraved. Aumrauth cant take anything seriously to save his life, and is far more attached to his potions and runes than people. Shows respect to no one, pokes fun at everyone. Gets under peoples skin without really trying. Approaches life with little fear or regard for his own safety (or other's safety) by nature of considering himself invincible, but is by nature very quick to self-preserve. He's smart. He knows when to fight, and when to flee - and usually he chooses flee. He's more interested in the pursuit of knowledge than losing a limb.
- Strengths: intelligent, quick wit
- Weaknesses: has lost quite a few marbles, evil...

Magic: Aumrauth is a dark mage, and the inventor of Forbidden Magic, but has become an expert in all types of magic over his centuries of life. He has a strong connection to the River and magic comes as naturally to him as breathing.

History: Aumrauth was once home to the once-great Elven Kingdom/Clan of Ayfedell. Ayfedell was his home for the first few formative years of his life prior to discovering/attaining his immortality.

As a young elf, he found himself drawn to the river, and quickly immersed himself in magic. He learned from the high mages of his kingdom and served them faithfully until he quickly surpassed them in skill, having a drive and passion for learning and mastering magic that made him a prodigy to his people. His hunger for knowledge drove him beyond the limits that mages of his time had thought possible. He made new discoveries in magic, and was looked up to for quite some time, being considered eccentric, but talented and sincere.

However, the well-respected high mage gradually drew into seclusion - and what started as a seemingly innocent expression of "burying himself in his studies" turned into an all-consuming madness. Locked in his home, in a flurry of euphoria, he invented the spells and potions that the world now knows as Forbidden.

A good friend of his - at least, a friend at the time - went to check in on him, finally managing to break in through the locks and see how Aumrauth was doing. Without even entering, they could feel the dark, icky, and ominous aura hanging over Aumrauth's home, and it was clear that Aumrauth was decidedly not okay.

What started as a call for help for Aumrauth quickly turned for the worse once the leaders of the kingdom and other mages were involved. A few confrontations resulted in the immutable declaration that Aumrauth was too dangerous and had to be stopped.

Aumrauth was captured, bound, and executed via beheading. At least, that's what everyone thought. Even while Aumrauth was entombed, the whispers of the river spoke to his lifeless body and sewed him back together. A month of being swaddled in burial cloths left Aumrauth fully restored and immersed in the river that gave him new - and never ending - life.

When he finally rose and left his tomb, he found himself changed. Yes, his head was reattached, but death no longer had a hold on him. The whites of his eyes had gone dark, and his irises turned a glowing white. His pale skin had turned a greyish hue, and he felt more powerful than ever.

Aumrauth returned to Ayfedell and swiftly killed the elven queen with the choking curse, apepnigen. He fled Ayfedell and withdrew deep into the forest where he became a hermit, ever-consumed by the pursuit of knowledge and improving his magical abilities.

Up For Love: Not really, he's kind of married to his magic, and I'm pretty sure no one would want to be in a relationship with him anyways...

Other: Aumrauth isn't the best fighter, but hes a very capable flee-er. Good at dodging. Quick, nimble, good at climbing and parkour-ish activities. Usually uses offensive magic to fight, rather than a blade, but hes not above a little stabby-stabby when necessary. If he's driven to it by necessity, he knows how to get creative with defense.

Likes to dance and is good at it. Dances when he’s happy.

For a considerable portion of his life (900 yrs) he was captured and held prisoner w/anti-mage materials. After a few centuries off the grid, Val finds him and “begrudgingly” breaks him free when he finds him.
