Appearance: Matt has an overall intimidating appearance. He's tall in stature, and his hair, which he keeps short, is currently dyed black. He has dark brown eyes and almost always is wearing a pair of sunglasses. His outfits are similarly as intimidating - for the most part, he wears a black leather jacket, black shirts, black pants and black boots. His most prized possession that's always on him is a simple, handmade cross.
Personality: Despite his terrifying appearance, Matt is actually quite a kind person. He tends to listen more than speak, but he's comfortable with telling what's on his mind. He just tries his best not to stand out. He also seems to be quite melancholy, though it's not clear why this is a problem.

Backstory: Matt first woke up near a temple for Mercury, and spent the majority of his life traveling around the world in search of answers and some purpose. His most memorable part of his life was his time in Salem, Massachusetts. He was going by the name John Willard then. He ended up befriending and later marrying a woman named Margaret Wilkins, the adopted daughter of an established Salem family. An important part of this relationship was that it wasn't romantic in the slightest - it was a marriage born out of necessity, as both were gay in a time where that wasn't allowed. Misfortune fell upon the two friends when Matt was accused of being a witch, and he "died" before he could ever tell Margaret the truth. She's the one who gave him the cross he wears now, and he always regrets that he never told her.
Other: He currently works at a popular clothing store, and the last time he used his magic was when someone tried taking his cross from him - his emotions went out of control.
