Brian Flanagan

Return to The Occult

Creator: SirenCymbaline
Roleplay: The Occult
Nickname: Brian

Name(s): Brian Flanagan.

Species: Fairy.

Age: Twenty-four, give or take, he's not that good at the conversions from fairy to human years.

Gender: Dude.

Appearance:
A short, skinny dude with a sharp, pointy face and slanted eyes.
Wears a stud earring with a glamour enchantment that hides his wings and green skin, but it only works on humans.
To humans, he appears to be a normal white guy with black hair, dark eyes, and a 90's style of dressing. With absurdly bright colours and geometric patterns and everything. Yep, nobody will ever fear this guy.

Personality:

Brian is a clueless, unlucky goof who gets by almost entirely on improvisation, and pretending to be a hell of a lot more calm and collected than he actually is. And consuming ungodly amounts of coffee, daily. Competitive, and kind of petty, but generally well-meaning. Not necessarily harmless, but well-meaning.

Up for Romance:
Yep. Idk what sexuality, so if you wanna go for it, just go for it.

Backstory:

This is a tale of a demon slayer motivated almost entirely by sibling rivalry.
Brian was the youngest of four children in a family of respectable, over-achieving scholars.
He could have been an okay scholar in a row of slightly more impressive scholars, or he could completely ruin their chances of showing him up by taking up a different field.
He chose the second option and majored in the arts of demon slaying.
And he lords it over his siblings at every single family get together, before they try to shut him up by lording over their degrees. There's a lot of lording around in that family.

Anyway, the fairy government was like 'ew, there's too many demons in the human realm, go kill them before they make it over here.' so they sent most of their demon slayers to Earth.

Luckily Brian was skilled in mesmer incantations and glamour enchantments, so he was able to hide his true nature fairly easily. He does fine at blending in. Despite his bad luck and apparent inability to not accidentally sabotage his own plans, he's been getting along okay in the demon slaying business. His real complaint in life is that has no supernatural friends here to relate to.
That, and those kids at the park keep beating him at card games.

Other:

He has the biological ability for flight, and the magical ability to borrow power from this unnamed pagan diety, using runes and incantations.

Fairies also made the great advancements in diemsional magic, so he has a little pocket dimension.

Being a fairy is something of an advantage in the demon hunting profession, with the flying and the spells and whathaveyou. But he's not that tough, physically, so he pretty much relies on the flying and the magic tricks. If he gets knocked out of the air, his chances aren't too good.

There is only one success: to be able to spend your life in your own way, and not to give others absurd maddening claims upon it.
