Andrew Armstrong
Return to Starlight
Creator: Elinor
Roleplay: Starlight
Nickname: Andrew
Name Andrew Grant Armstrong
Age: 37
Appearance: One thing that sets Andrew apart from studio heads such as Louis B. Mayer, Harry Cohn and the Warner Brothers is his youth and attractiveness. With his dark hair, deep brown eyes, and slender frame, he could have been a movie star.
Personality: Andrew was always a bit of an egotist, but being the "Boy Wonder" of Hollywood has only exacerbated this. He is, however, undeniably a genius, and knows how to talk to people, especially actors and make them feel valued. He's very charismatic, and almost everyone tends to fall under his spell.
Background: Andrew was born and raised in Los Angeles, and was around movies his entire life. He was the only son of a silent film producer of some note, and his father helped him get his first job in a production office after high school. He was always a good looking boy, and never had any trouble getting women (and later, men).
He was quickly promoted to the head of production at the production office, and found himself creatively dissatisfied. His father died when Andrew was 25, and with his inheritance he decided to start his own in 1930 at the age of 27. Everyone laughed him off, but Andrew proved them wrong. Vitophone was immediately a success. By 1933, the box office receipts of its films rivaled any of the major studios. His stars loved him, and they always had positive things to say.
However, his studio is still not taken seriously by some industry elites, which frustrates him and makes him nervous.
Up for Love/Sexuality: Yes/Bisexual
Other: He was married, for the first and only time, from 1935 to 1938, and has a four year old daughter named Sarah.
